Description: nanimarquina and the Eames Office introduce a collection of rugs based on original artworks by American artist Lucia Eames™, sole child of designer Charles Eames and beloved step-daughter to his partner in life and work, Ray Eames. Sunbirds stems from Lucia Eames’ fascination with observing nature up close, translating organic forms into a graphic composition with an almost calligraphic quality. The design unfolds from a central motif that expands outward, reinterpreting traditional rugs through a contemporary lens. Crafted from hand-braided jute and later stitched together, it introduces a technique that creates a richly textured surface. The interweaving of fibers produces subtle color variations, combining the honesty of Natural Materials with a refined visual language.
