Jean Stodden Spatburgunder 2019, 75 cl
For Spatburgunder read Pinot Noir and this is seriously good German Pinot Noir. Vegan friendly and a superb wine to boot. Highly recommended.
Product Description
Alexander Stodden wears the immense tradition with which he has been entrusted with quiet determination and fortitude. His late father, Gerd, was one of the very first Spätburgunder producers in Germany to give his wines some serious French oak treatment, a wine making philosophy that Alexander continues today. Exceptional location such as the Recher Herrenberg are a gift of nature., even so careful pruning and green harvesting are essential to ensure low yields and good ripeness.
Tasting Notes
For Spatburgunder read Pinot Noir and this is seriously good German Pinot Noir. Made in limited quantities we cannot predict how long the 2019 vintage will be available but suspect it’ll disappear pretty quickly. It looks lovely in your glass with its bright colouring, but this belies the depth of flavour and satisfaction this wine provides. Berried flavours may well rule the way but there are also hints of cigar and spice. A treat- and one that will surprise many. On top of that this is Vegan friendly so there is absolutely no excuse not to dip your toe into German Pinot Noir if you haven’t before. Vegan friendly and a superb wine to boot. Highly recommended.
