Opus One was born from a collaboration between two iconic winemaking families: Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Robert Mondavi. Their shared vision to fuse centuries of winemaking tradition with innovative techniques, resulted in the pair crafting exceptional wine in the heart of Napa Valley, where the terroir and careful farming created true expressions of the year. The end of a five-year drought, 2017 started rainy allowing for increased soil moisture and healthy vine development, with harvest falling earlier than expected within the year. This harmonious vintage boasts aromas of dark fruit, roses and earth, while on the palate, silky tannins and flavours of black cassis, cherry and cocoa powder lend the blend well to cellaring.
