Overview: Shedeh Chenin Blanc is bottled and produced by Harmata Family Wines in Paso Robles, California.
Ancient Egyptians were buried with the most precious food and drink as sustenance for the afterlife. One of these was Shedeh, but it's identification was only speculated until recent science. Using a well preserved amphora from King Tutankhamun's tomb. Chemists revealed that Shedeh had a red grape origin! Before King Tut, however, Phaoras would never indulge "thinking it to be the blood of those who had once battled against the Gods and from whom, when they had fallen and had become comingled with the earth, they believed vines to have sprung". Egyptians quickly came to their senses.
Tasting Notes: Herbal and floral notes such as violet, lilac, lavender, sage, and dried herbs.
Pairing: Rich cuts of red meat, well-aged cheese (like Stilton) or wild game.
