Marco Felluga - Mongris Pinot Grigio - Collio
Overview: The Company Marco Felluga, in Gradisca d’Isonzo, has the Lion of Saint Mark as its symbol: a tribute to the glorious past of the ancient town founded by the Most Serene Republic of Venice. Its vineyards are located in four different areas of the Collio: Farra d’Isonzo, San Floriano del Collio, Oslavia and Cormòns. The quality of its red and white wines comes from these vineyards.
The name Mongris comes from the contraction of the two words “monovitigno” (“single-varietal” in Italian) and “gris” (“grey” in the Friulian dialect, referring to Pinot Grigio).
Today Pinot Grigio is one of the most popular white grape varieties grown in the Collio DOC. Its presence in Friuli Venezia Giulia dates back to the second half of the XIX Century.
Tasting Notes: Golden yellow color with copper hints. It has an intense aroma with pronounced hints of acacia flower, broom and apple. It has an elegant, fruity, full-bodied and structured taste and a long finish.
Pairing: White fish
Points: 90, James Suckling
Format/ABV: 750 ml/13.5%
