Moraga Estate Red - Bel Air 2013 (750 ml)
The 2013 vintage at Moraga Estate in Bel Air was shaped by extreme drought and a slightly warmer-than-average season, which gave way to ideal conditions for controlled, high-quality ripening. Low rainfall and optimal late-summer weather allowed the grapes to achieve superb tannin and flavor development. Each lot was hand-picked, sorted with meticulous care, and vinified with extended maceration and aging in 100% new French oak, resulting in a polished, terroir-driven expression of the estate.
Winemaking:
Grapes were hand-harvested in small lots from September 24 to October 7. After fermentation, wines underwent extended maceration and aged in 100% new French oak barrels. The wine spent two years in bottle before release, allowing for additional complexity and refinement.
Pairing:
Pairs beautifully with dry-aged steaks, braised short ribs, mushroom risotto, or grilled portobello.
Points:
Not formally rated, but crafted with Grand Cru-level care and aged over 4 years pre-release.
Format / ABV:
750 ml / Approx. 14.3%
