OVERVIEW:

I wasn't sure we would ever actually see these Peerless Barrels.  The team selected them on October 25th, 2021.  We'd seen other whiskey clubs that selected barrels around the same time have their barrels come and go, and we even saw one of them show up at a Louisiana retailer.  Well, good things come to tot those that wait, and we've had our share of waiting over the last few years.  Please enjoy "RYE CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT BUTTER".

Barrel Date 11/7/2016, Bottled 02/20/2022, Proof 110.6, 55.3% ABV

TASTING NOTES: by Brian Beyke

• Nose:  Spiced maple, charred oak, and a myriad of baking spices fill all the senses. Rustic and dark, subtlety earthy, the layers of fruit and sugar sweetness are quite a treat here.
• Palate:  The palate slowly coats - licorice spiced oak, and buttery dark fruits just lay on the tongue like a weighted blanket. This one is dense and sweet amidst all the baking spices.
• Finish:  The finish continues with medicinal cherry, charred oak, and burnt caramel, with a weight on the tongue like a warm hug.

Hand or machine wash on a cool, gentle cycle with similar colours. Avoid harsh chemicals or stain removers, which can affect the colour.
