Port Askaig 8 Year Old Malt Whisky, 70 cl

This is Port Askaig’s youngest expression so it’s no surprise to find youthful spirit characters at play. We’d recommend this more as an aperitif whisky, with more smoky character than you might expect from its age. Fresh and zesty, with salt, pepper, and lingering lemon.

Lying as it does on the West Coast of Islay, Port Askaig hails from one of the most majestic (in this writer’s opinion) parts of Scotland. That said you won’t find a distillery there. Rather Port Askaig’s whiskies are made from stocks purchased elsewhere on this hallowed island and therein lies quite a debate as to who precisely is supplying the stock! I wouldn’t let that concern you too much, each of their range does a tremendous job of representing Islay – that said perhaps you’d like to have a guess whilst tasting……

Smoky, fresh and zesty

Hand or machine wash on a cool, gentle cycle with similar colours. Avoid harsh chemicals or stain removers, which can affect the colour.
